The girls’ soccer team had a good night in Huron last night. First, the JV team won 6-2. Scoring goals were Gracie Ransom and Amanda Mitchell with two each. Peyton Phillips and Alessandra Davis both added one goal apiece. Assisting those goals were Trinity Craycraft and Jaileena Trimble with two. Dylan Koba-Nelson had five saves and Rylee Maggard had three. Emma McDevitt also played in goal and kept the ball out of the net. Brianna Toledo, Lilly Laughrey, Gracie Yonts and Kaylee Boggs played great defense. Sammie Novak and Rebekah Selent helped out in the midfield.

The varsity team moved to 7-3-1 on the season with a fast paced 1-1 tie against Huron. The Falcons took the lead in the 25th minute with a goal by Lexi McCrary. She was assisted by Isabel Solowiej. Huron tied the game with 9:45 left in the first half on a penalty kick. It remained tied for the rest of the game. Peyton Phillips had twelve saves. Solowiej, Alessandra Davis, Emma McDevitt and Andria Mains played great defense, helping keep the ball out of the goal. Julia Douzos, Jordan Janosik, Alaina Becker, Audrey Lyons, Sammie Novak and Dylan Koba-Nelson all helped control the mid. Rylee Maggard helped McCrary keep pressure on Huron. Next up for the team is Lutheran West. They girls play away on Wednesday at 5:00.
