The Firelands Falcons Varsity Wrestling team competed in the Perrysburg Invitational Tournament (P.I.T) this weekend. Much like the Medina Invitational Tournament- the P.I.T is known to be one of the more difficult tournaments in the state of Ohio. The Falcons finished 11th out of the 26 team field- just slightly out of the top 10.
Sophomore standout- Payton Burgdorf (106) finished 1st with two huge wins over top ten ranked opponents, and improved to a record of 24-0 on the season.
Senior Tyler Bennett (220) had an impressive tournament as he finished in 8th place and is now 12-12 on the season.
Senior Sean Lipscomb (285) continued his season-long rampage through the heavyweight division, as he also won a championship at the P.I.T. Sean defeated two state ranked opponents in the process, and now stands with a record of 25-1 on the season.
The Falcons now begin inner-league duals as they travel to Brooklyn this Thursday.
