9 Falcons move onto Regional competition in the OHSAA State Track and Field Championships which will take place in Lexington Ohio this Thursday May 25th. These elite athletes qualified by placing in the top four at the District Championships held in Orrville Ohio this past Thursday and Saturday. For the girls, seniors Tori Grasso and Megan Vaughn will be joined by freshman standout Alessandra Davis next week. Tori was the only District Champion for the Falcons as she won the high jump in a leap of 5’1″. Alessandra took a second in the 1600m to qualify and Megan took 3rd in the 3200m to punch her ticket to Regionals. On the boys side, the duo of senior Colin Myers and Sophomore Blake Ruffner both move on to regional competition in two events a piece. Both qualified in the high jump as they took took 3rd and 4th respectively. Colin also qualified in the 400m dash as he finished fourth whereas Blake will lead off the 4x400m relay for the Falcons that also finished fourth. Joining Blake on the 4x400m relay will be Freshman Tad Miller, Junior Logan Strader and Sophomore Beau Grude. The final Falcon to qualify was senior Trevor Stefanski will continue his discus career at Regionals as he also took fourth to advance to next week.
